FAQ - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
It’s my first tattoo/piercing. What’s involved?
Exciting! Getting a tattoo or piercing for the first time comes with some stress. First things first: look around carefully for which artist you want to visit. Prepare well: sleep well, eat well, and don’t stress! If you have any questions, you can ask them beforehand via email or social media. That way you can prepare a bit better 🙂 Anyway, I take my time with every tattoo and piercing.
From what age do you place tattoos or piercings?
We place tattoos from the age of 18, without exception. Legally, they are allowed from 16 years old, but not in our shop.
Piercings are allowed from the age of 16 without parental permission, or from 15 with permission. Genital piercings (this includes nipple piercings) are only possible from 18.
How do I book an appointment?
I have a booking form here that you can use, or you can contact me via email, Instagram, Facebook or Whatsapp (don’t call, only messages! I don’t answer phones).
How does the advance payment for tattoos work?
When we have agreed on a date, I ask for a deposit. This fixes the appointment. Often this is a smaller part of the tattoo (€20 for small tattoos, €50 for larger tattoos). You can transfer this or pay in the shop. A week before the tattoo, I check whether the deposit has been paid. The sooner it is in order, the sooner I can work on your design!
What are your rates?
My minimum rate is €65. This is also my hourly rate. For large or interesting projects, a fixed price is agreed.
What about pain?
We can’t deny it: tattoos and piercings hurt. However, this is relative: it depends on the place, in the case of a tattoo how long it takes, where your pain threshold is, … Some people only experience a tattoo as irritating, for others it is less pleasant. Know yourself: tattoos in places with little muscle/fat (such as ribs, spine, ankles, …) hurt more.
I don’t use a numbing cream. If you want to use this, it is at your own risk and the right to a cheap retouching is lost.
I am pregnant, can I get a tattoo or piercing?
No! With a tattoo, the ink can get to your baby (which is obviously not healthy).
With a piercing, your immune system is the problem: because it only focuses on your baby, there is a much higher risk of inflammation and your piercing will take a lot longer to heal. So wait a while 🙂
How do I take care of my tattoo or piercing?
We explain the aftercare after the placement and also give the explanation on paper. If you are unsure about anything, you can always send us a message! The most important summary is: no alcohol on your piercing (such as isobetadine) and no skin cream on your tattoos (such as nivea). There are products, which you can buy both from pharmacies and from us, that are specially made for aftercare.
My tattoo and the summer months
Lubricate well with that sunscreen! Even if you don’t burn easily, you need to take good care of your tattoo so that it stays beautiful for a long time.
I would like to buy my own jewellery for my piercing. What should I pay attention to?
It is important to know what diameter you need (for example, helixes are set in 1.2mm, but tongue piercings in 1.6mm) and how big the piercing should be. You can always ask about this.
Another important point is to buy quality jewellery for your piercings. This should not cost pieces of people, but it is important that it is a good material (surgical steel, titanium, …) and the right thickness. We recommend webshops like alloverpiercing or crazyfactory.
I have a problem with my piercing. What should I do?
First and foremost: don’t take your piercing out! Send us a message and we’ll arrange for you to visit the shop as soon as possible so we can look at the next steps together.
I have a problem with my tattoo. What should I do?
Sometimes your body can react strangely to some inks. You can drop by so we can evaluate this or you can send us photos.
